Over the years we’ve found some more remote campgrounds that we really love. From late spring to early autumn I’m offering complete camping trips to one of our favorites, Camping Les Illes de Montseny.
The campground is tucked into a little valley close to the source of the Tordera River, and has excellent walks leaving directly from the camping area. Tent camping is in a grassy meadow directly next to the river, so you are lulled to sleep at night to the sound of rushing water. Interesting animals, flowers, and plants abound in Montseny, and you can be sure we’ll see (or in the case of owls more likely hear) many of them.
Schedule of the trips:
We leave around 10:00, arriving at the campground at 11:30.
We set up camp, then explore a bit of the area, particularly the stream and the “Gorg Negre” – the Black Gorge – where we’ll have a picnic lunch.
We’ll return to the campground late afternoon, and use the swimming pool, play football, feed the chickens and rabbits, and generally just relax.
Later we’ll get dinner together, and eat at a picnic table near the barbecue area.
Once it’s a bit darker we’ll have a night hike, and hopefully see some of the nocturnal creatures in the area.
We get up, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then break camp.
We drive a short distance to another section of the Tordera River for a stunning walk along the river, where once again we’re likely to find lots of interesting plants and animals. We have a picnic lunch on some rocks in the river, then make our way back to the car, generally arriving home between 17:00 and 18:00.
